Zuri Is Changing The Game In Nigerian-Made Jewellery

Lagos-based jewellery brand, Zuri, seeks to change the game of affordable jewellery shopping in Nigeria with its multiple catalogue of accessories. Co-founders of Zuri Lagos, Teni Oguntayo and Lamide Sadipe, birthed the idea after a tedious jewellery hunt in Lagos, resolving to fix the problem and therefore named the brand after the Swahili word for “beautiful”.

Speaking about the brand, Sadipe explained; “We wanted to create affordable jewellery collections that simply make every woman feel beautiful. Jewellery has the power to elevate your outfit, your presence and we want all our girls to feel beautiful, confident always.”

Commenting on how the brand gets its stock, Sadipe shared; “For now, we scout jewellery designs we believe will work together to form a cohesive collection. Having a factory in Nigeria which is equipped and able to manufacture affordable, yet good quality jewellery pieces is the ultimate goal. With a pretty youthful target market, roughly between the ages of 15 and 30, Zuri is catering to a generation of women who are aware of and love the power of technology in simplifying processes.”

Creating collections of fun pieces of jewellery with colour, staple designs such as safety pin earrings and so on, the brand is certain it will stamp it name and be more appreciated by its target range.

Zuri’s aim is to leave every woman feeling “completely” beautiful, and in less than a year since it’s existence, it has debuted two collections – the Sparkle Collection and their latest Summer Collection – all comfortably playing with more colours than usual, and gold. With a third collection planned for their first-year anniversary in December, the brand seems unstoppable. Zuri is stocked in the Mohini Experience Studio in Victoria Island, Lagos.
