You Season 3 is coming to Netflix in October

You

Netflix’s hit psychological triller, You now has a confirmed release date.

The studio announced that the third season of the crime drama will premiere on October 15. The second season of the show premiered in 2019.

To prepare for the upcoming season, Netflix released a short teaser trailer introducing a new character to the show. Joe (Penn Badgley) and Love (Victoria Pedretti) are welcoming in their first child, Henry.

“People these days will name their kids anything to get attention. And despite your mother’s background and your grandma’s determination to refer to you as Forty reincarnated, I know better. A boy is not what we expected and I would be lying if I said the thought of ‘mini me’ was surely exciting and not without, uh, challenges.” Joe said. “Let’s just say, I’m hoping you’ll do as I say and not as I do,” Joe says in the teaser. “Choosing your name is the first of a lifetime of decisions I’ll make to give you the best life possible. To protect you, to shape who you will become. Who are you going to be?”

Season 3 of the thriller will begins with Joe and Quinn married and raising their son, Henry. Their family life begins to grow complicated due to Love’s impulsiveness and Joe’s budding interest in their new neighbor.

The show is based on the books “You” and “Hidden Bodies” by Caroline Kepnes. Season 2 saw Joe move from New York to Los Angeles to escape his murderous past with a new identity, then fall in love with Love unexpectedly. Season 3 takes the story in a new direction from where the books have gone. (The third in Kepnes’ series, “You Love Me,” was published in April, after the writers’ room on the series planned its story.)
