Yemi Alade’s Spanking New Video ‘Shekere’ Features Angelique Kidjo: Watch

Nigerian Afrobeats vocalist, Yemi Alade has released the visuals for Shekere, featuring Angelique Kidjo, a Beninese singer-songwriter. It is the sixth single off her critically acclaimed Woman of Steel album.

The talented singer took to her social media page on Wednesday to share the YouTube link of the visuals to her numerous fans.

“Watch my Spanking brand new video #Shekere– ft @ Angelique Kidjo,” she wrote on Instagram.

The less than five-minutes video sees Alade and the four-time Grammy winner dazzling in several traditional attires showing the glitz and glamour of the African culture.

Produced by TBA and directed by Ovie Etseyatse, ‘Shekere’ is the fifth video off  Woman of Steel album. It was released more than 3 months after the music superstar dropped visuals for Vibe.

Other hit singles in the album are Home, Give Dem, Shake, Oh My Gosh. The album also features a host of international stars like Rick Ross, Angelique Kidjo, Duncan Mighty.

Alade’s collaboration with Kidjo — who toppled Burna Boy to snag the Best World Music Album’ category at the recent Grammy awards — is a further evidence of the singer’s impressive music career.

She has won several awards in the past including the MTV African Music Award and the BET Award alongside other honorary mentions.

In 2018, the singer made the Forbes under 30 honoree list and was unveiled as part of the “2018 most influential people in Africa.”

Woman of Steel album also saw her further amassed huge popularity, even attracting consideration for nomination organisers of the recently held 2020 Grammys Awards.
