Yemi Alade to Join Grammy's Harvey Mason in Announcing Award Nominees

Afro-beat singer, Yemi Alade will be joining the Chair and Interim Recording Academy President/CEO, Harvey Mason Jr. in announcing the nominees for the 63rd Grammy Awards.

Alade, who just released her fifth studio album, Empress, will be part of the nomination livestream that will air on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.

Joining the music star in announcing the nominees are Regional Mexican singer-songwriter, Pepe Aguilar, Grammy Award-winning classical violinist Nicola Benedetti, two-time Grammy Award-winning contemporary Christian singer Lauren Daigle, Country singer-songwriter Mickey Guyton, two-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, Dua Lipa, amongst others.

Meanwhile, Alade’s 15-track album include songs like –True love, Yoyoyo, Maami Water, Lose My Mind, Dancina, Boys, I choose you, Control, Temptation (featuring Patoranking), Ice, Deceive (featuring Rudeboy), Turn up, Rain, and Double double.

To immerse herself in African royalty, the actress cum activist teamed up with some music heavyweights, including French singers, Vegedream and Dadju, on Lose my mind and I Choose You, and South Africa’s revered show choir, Mzansi Youth Choir in Rain.

Born March 13, 1989, the Johnny crooner emerged on the Nigerian entertainment scene in 2009 upon her resounding victory at the fiercely competed Peak Talent Show. She was thereafter signed to Effyzzie Music Group, where she released the critically acclaimed hit, Johnny in 2014.

Since then, Alade has gained prominence in the music industry following the releases of her albums, which includes –King of Queens, Mama Africa, which made her embark on world tours consecutively.
