The 2020 African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) might be over but we are still reminiscing about some amazing fashion statements.
As celebrities went head-to-head for the golden statue, as usual, Eelive was able to screen the red carpet’s wins and losses.
On the other hand, in a bid to outshine others since the best dressed category was newly introduced to the awards; some celebrities shot themselves in the leg.
For the special category, the Best Dressed Male and Best Dressed Female went to Mike Edwards and Mercy Eke of the just concluded Big Brother Naija season 4.
Lets take a look at the worst and best dressed celebrities at the 2020 AMVCA. Like the famous saying, lets’s save the best for last.
Worst
OAP Gbemi
We absolutely adore, OAP Gbemi for her captivating radio voice. But as an average choice from the red carpet’s usually most- swaying woman, we expected more, Gbemi. This looks tacky. It’s a NO!
Billy Porter‘s Twin?
Red carpets are performance arts, aren’t they? But hey, this is a low budget Billy Porter look. We know how very dramatic Billy Porter often looks on a red carpet, but the good news is it proves Porter is just as much a fashion plate. The bad news here is be you not Billy Porter.
Omashola
What is going on here? We know that there is an outbreak that has now spread across the globe- Coronavirus, but this looks like he’s straight out of an isolation housing facility. Apparently, Omashola had ‘enough masks’ to go round. But we think Omashola could do better sartorially for occasion.
Harrysong
Turban, Agbada and Sneakers? While Harrysong might be trying to showcase the Nigerian traditional look, his outfit lacks any stand-out feature. Fail.
Pretty Mike
Just like the ridiculous outfit the club owner is fond of wearing, we just can’t approve of the stunt he pulled last night.
Kiki Omeili
Kiki Omeili‘s dress was a real eyesore and did little to her pretty face.
Omotunde ‘Lolo 1’ Adebowale
Lolo 1 looked incredibly drab and not unlike the dress code for an old woman’s church conference.
Ife Ennada
We absolutely love this shimmery material but Ifu Ennada‘s coronavirus inspired outfit wouldn’t have been out of place in a clown’s closet. The whole combination- the mask, walking stick and shoes looked very awkward. Her outfit didn’t seem to fit her.
