NIGERIAN singer, Wizkid has taken to social media to speak against police brutality, which he admitted is common in Nigeria and the United States of America.

Coming on the heels of the gruesome killing of George Floyd, a Black-American who died in the hands of police officers in the US, and a teenage girl, Tina who was shot dead in Lagos, Nigeria, the music star pointed out the fact that police officers in the US are killing Black-Americans, while the ones back home in his country are killing Nigerians.

While noting that the issue cannot be resolved by any man, Wizkid maintained that only God can protect the Blacks from killer cops.

“Police dey kill black Americans and Naija police dey kill Nigerians. No man fit sort this matter. God save us,” he tweeted.

With recent happenings in Nigeria and the US, it is arguable that Nigerians and Americans are now more frightened than ever of ‘crooked cops’.

While many have hinged police officer’s unwarranted and often illegal use of force against civilians on racism, in some cases like it often happens in Nigeria, observers had opined that it is pure wickedness.

Do you assume that police brutality ending anytime soon?
