Afropop singer, Wizkid, has apologized for the murder of a male fan by a policeman. His fan was returning from his StarBoyFest concert held on Thursday night in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Policeman, Lukmon Akanbi shot 39-year-old Babatunde Adeniji dead early on Friday morning following a misunderstanding. Apparently, the two had a confrontation that turned into a physical altercation.
Witnesses report that the victim was shot at close range. Mr Adeniji was taken to Naval Dockyard Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The show organizers have confirmed that the policeman was not part of the security detail at the event. Rather, he came from a police station nearby and stopped for whatever reason.
Wizkid, in a tweet on Friday, said the news of the tragic incident broke him.

Wizkid swears to follow up on the case of his late fan until the policeman who committed the act gets his punishment.
Mr Akanbi, a police sergeant, has been dismissed for the murder. This was after facing internal disciplinary proceedings known as Orderly Room Trial.
According to the police, they have handed him over to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba. There, he will face prosecution in a conventional court.
