Popular British actor, Rowan Atkinson has revealed that he will never play the role of Mr Bean for any movie again.
In an interview on Radio Times, Atkinson said playing the loveable childish buffoon is exhausting, hence is decision to never again appear as the character.
“It’s easier for me to perform the character vocally than visually. I don’t much enjoy playing him. The weight of responsibility is not pleasant.
“I find it stressful and exhausting, and I look forward to the end of it,” he stated.
Mr Bean is a clown-like character based on physical comedy with very little dialogue. He first appeared on ITV in 1990, before spawning films and a cartoon series.
Since then, he has gone to become a beloved character around the world, starring in two feature length movies and appearing live at the London 2012 Summer Olympics opening ceremony.
The animated children’s series was launched in 2002.
