Nollywood filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan has revealed that he featured Ibukun Awosika, Chairman, First Bank of Nigeria, because he saw her in his dream.
In view of recent reactions on social media, eelive.ng understands that movie enthusiasts are all agog after the news of Awosika featuring in Citation, Afolayan’s forthcoming movie, came to fore.
Discussing what triggered his interest to feature the businesswoman, Afolayan admitted that a lot of people may not believe it was because he saw Awosika in his dream was why he featured her.
“I featured her (Awosika) because I saw her in my dream. A lot of people might not believe it, but that was what happened.
“At a particular time having started this project, I was talking to an actress. And for me, when I’m on a project like that, my frame of mind and everything will be soaked into it. I mean, when I eat, sleep, even when I’m walking, all I would be seeing is the project.
“So there was this day I got home and I slept, till now, I can’t still figure out how she came in my dream, but I saw her in the film,” he told Channels TV.
On how he was able to secure her interest take a role in the movie, Afolayan said it wasn’t an easy task, adding that he unexpectedly met her at a fashion store.
“After seeing her in my dream, I started talking to people that I know have close relationship with her. You know, it didn’t happen as I have thought.
“Surprisingly to me, one day I was at a fashion store, and I saw her passing through. I just went to her, and I told her you were going to be in my film. I remember how she laughed, but now the rest is history.
“It was also tough because we had also gotten Access Bank as one of our partners. So you know how difficult it was, to feature the chairman of First Bank on a project Access Bank is involved in. But I’m glad she was humble enough to feature in the movie,” he explained.
