In an interview with Tolani Baj, media personality Moet Abebe expressed her reluctance to date men who live on the mainland in Lagos.
She cited reasons like difficulties in late-night meetups due to distance and concerns about police presence as factors influencing her decision.
“I have always said this thing, I cannot necessarily date someone that lives on the mainland,” she said.
“I feel like if I call you at 11 pm, you will probably give me some story like it is too late, there are police on the street, I cannot come.”
In 2021, Abebe stated her disinterest in marriage, dubbing it a “fraud”.
She openly discussed her past experience in an abusive relationship that lasted around two and a half years.
She also commented on the societal pressure that can lead women to enter into marriages for the wrong reasons.
“I have just noticed that a lot of people are getting married for the wrong reasons. A lot of people are doing it because of pressure,” she said.
Moet Abebe is recognized for her work as a TV presenter, video jockey, and On-Air Personality (OAP). She has also expanded her career into acting.
She has appeared in several movies and TV series, such as ‘Red Card,’ ‘Oasis,’ and ‘Living Arrangement.’
