Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, and her former record label boss, Don Jazzy have recently been interrogated. This is according to Sahara Reporters.
The publication reports that the Department State Service (DSS), first interrogated the music stars, after which the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) invited them for questioning.
According to the report, Savage and Don Jazzy were being interrogated over their political-related views which were not in Favour of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.
Eelive.ng understands that Savage has recently been vocal about Nigerian politics, as she has repeatedly called out the Buhari government to live up to its responsibilities.
More so, with a hashtag #WeAreTired, Savage who just released her third studio project, Celia, protested the increasing rape cases, calling on Buhari to stem the tide of rape and sexual assaults against women in the country.
Similarly, Don Jazzy was believed to have also been interrogated for his recent criticism of the Buhari government.
The revered music executive has recently called out Buhari for poor decisions over the country’s economy and at the same time, criticized the incumbent government for human right violation.
Other artistes interrogated by the Police on the orders of the presidency, according to Sahara Reporters, were Yemi Alade and Waje.
It was learnt that the duo was questioned by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, who reportedly warned them to steer clear of political comments in order not to incur the wrath of the Buhari administration.
