Veteran Nigerian reggae artiste, Majek Fashek, has been hospitalised with an undisclosed illness leaving Nigerians concerned about the state of the singer.
According to his manager, Uzoma Omenka, the singer had spent so much on his health that he had little left to sponsor his hospital bills in London.
In a recent post, Omenka solicited for help from well-meaning Nigerians as they were stranded in Queen Elizabeth Hospital in England.
Well, business mogul and Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola, has now pledged financial support to provide good healthcare for Fashek.
According to Premium Times, this was disclosed by Omenka, who revealed that despite Otedola’s help, the singer still needed funds to cater for other expenses.
He said: “We really appreciate him for coming through and taking care of the hospital bills. It is a huge relief and we are grateful. We however still need more support from well-meaning Nigerians to take care of other expenses.”
“Majek is not dead; he is very sick and we are stranded and we need funds urgently,” the manager lamented.
Otedola is not new to the philanthropic business as he is recorded to have sponsored the medical bills of Christian Chukwu, former Super Eagles’ coach and veteran Nigerian media personality, Sadiq Daba.
