American talk show host, Wendy Williams has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19.

The announcement was made via the show’s official Instagram account. The statement read,

“While continuing her health evaluations, Wendy has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19. To allow Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production abides by all SAG/AFTRA and DGA Covid protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season of ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ on Monday, October 4th”. “In the meantime, repeats will be scheduled.” the statement read.

This date moves the new season two weeks back from the originally announced premiere date of September 20.

Wendy Williams is an American media personality and has hosted the self titled television talk show since 2008.

Williams has been dealing with health issues for a while now and canceled scheduled appearances to promote her talk show. Last Thursday, the show also announced Williams had “ongoing health issues” and is “undergoing further evaluations.”

Last year she took a break while dealing with Graves’ disease.
