Webinar: Industry Stakeholders To Honour Steve Ayorinde On his 50th Birthday

Artists and Repertoire Manager, Africa for Sony ATV Music Publishing, South Africa, Munya Chanetsa, and President/Executive Producer, All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), Mike Dada, have been announced as part of the stakeholders who have been assembled across Africa in a Zoom Webinar designed to celebrate the 50th birthday of the former Commissioner for Tourism Arts and Culture in Lagos State, Steve Ayorinde.

The webinar, which will hold on Thursday, July 9, 2020, also seeks to discuss how creative and entertainment contents can serve as catalysts for the needed revival after four months of COVID-19 pandemic.

In a press release obtained by eelive.ng, President of Tourism Leadership Forum, James MacGregor; Regional Head-West Africa, South African Tourism, Thekiso Rakolojane; Founder, Villa Sands Hotel Group, Ilha de, Mozambique, Gisela Antman; Head of International Jury Department, Cairo International Film Festival, Egypt, Nayera Soliman; and President, West Africa Tourism Organisation (WATO), Ola Wright, were disclosed to be part of the stakeholders expected to lead the pack of a well-curated Pan-African panel to drive a sustainable path that will encourage intra-African tourism in-flow in the expected ‘new normal’.

Other stakeholders include -the Chief Executive Officer, Ghana Tourism Authority, Akwasi Agyeman; Regional Marketing Manager, Kenya Tourism Board, Fiona Ngesa; Head Tourism, Brand Malawi Campaign, Janet Kathewera; Founder, Akwaaba African Travel Market, Ikechi Uko; Chief Executive Officer, W-hospitality Group, Nigeria, Belinda Nwosu.

Alongside AFRIMA’s Dada, President, Africa Movie Academy Awards, (AMAA), Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, at the event, has been shouldered with the responsibility of providing insight into a pan-African creative showpiece that tick the tourism and creative content boxes.

According to the webinar organisers, aside from celebrating Ayorinde, whose contributions to the development of tourism and creative industry in Lagos, and Nigeria at large are noteworthy, the forthcoming webinar seeks to examine the need to close the gap for renewal and refocus.
