The United Nations (UN) has launched an open brief calling on creatives around the globe to help spread public health messages in order to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
The UN, seeking a multiple of creative solutions to reach different audiences and cultures, says it’s looking for “magic” to bring creative twists and cultural chances to life.
In an open brief from the United Nations titled; Global Call to Creatives, “You have the power to change the world,” the UN says in its briefing document. “We need help translating critical public health messages.”
According to the brief, the World Health Organisation is leading and coordinating the global health response to COVID-19, helping ensure all countries are ready to prevent, detect, and respond to the pandemic.
“To be effective, we need people everywhere to adopt public health precautions, act in solidarity and prevent the spread of misinformation,” it added.
The UN said it needs help translating critical public health messages into different languages, cultures, communities and platforms; reaching everyone, everywhere.
“We need to meet people where they are, with a stream of fresh, innovative content which drives home the personal behaviours and societal support needed today. We are equipping you with WHO-provided knowledge and messages to spread.”
Continuing, the UN stated that the call is not a single campaign as it is requesting creatives to extend their imagination and lend their support and ingenuity.
