Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita Nyong’o might just be kick-starting a career in rap as she unleashed her alter-ego, Troublemaker, when she appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
During the interview, the “Us” actor spoke about her reaction to becoming a Beyoncé lyric, (the singer mentions her on the Wizkid-assisted “Brown Skin Girl”), and also being mentioned in a Jay-Z song.
“I love the Carters and they seem to love me. I’m not mad,” Nyong’o cheerily shared.
She flexed her rap skills as she made it clear that she had another hustle to try if she ever decided to take a break from acting. Her alter-ego ‘Troublemaker’ is actually a name that was given to her by American rapper, Common. She picks up a mic and dons a pair of dark sunglasses before proceeding to drop a catchy freestyle, backed by house band, The Roots.
The actor has been promoting her upcoming children’s book “Sulwe”, as well as her latest film “Little Monsters”, which is in theaters this week.
