Actress and model, Dorcas Shola Faspson adapted beautifully Paulette Kelly’s poem “I Got Flowers Today” sending a subtle yet deep message to her audience and women in particular who might be suffering from domestic violence.
“I Got Flowers Today” is a poem about domestic violence in which the victim loses her life at the hands of her abusive partner.
In her interpretation of the poem, Fapson stars alongside co-actor, Mawuli Gavor to enact scenes that spoke directly of love gone sour, the illusion of repentance and a loss of life due to inability to speak up.
The clip sends an important message on the dangers of domestic violence and the importance of speaking out.
