NOLLYWOOD actor, Ukwak Asuquo who was famous for his role in the now rested TV series, The Village Headmaster, has been pronounced dead.
The deceased played the character of Boniface in the drama series, which aired on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) from 1968 to 1988.
Disclosing Asuquo’s demise, the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN), in a statement shared on Instagram, expressed its sadness over the loss of the actor.
While the cause of the actor’s demise is yet-to-be-disclosed, the AGN has immediately set up a committee to organise a befitting burial for the actor.
The statement read partly; “With deep sorrow and gratitude to God for a life well spent, we announce the demise of Mr. Uwak Auquo, popularly known as Boniface in the rested television drama series, The Village Headmaster.”
“Until his death, he was a card-carrying and financially update member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Abuja Chapter.
“The national president of AGN, Emeka Rollas has set up a burial committee to collaborate with the family to give him a befitting burial.”
