B’Concept Network Productions has been releasing an African dramatized adaptation of the Bible parable The Ten Virgins. Since its debut on YouTube on Dec. 1, The Ten Virgins series, created by Blessing Egbe, has received rave reviews from viewers.
Like the Bible story, The Ten Virgins follows a group of 10 women and their journeys through their Christian faith. The series creates conversations about what we consider to be true Christianity and whether or not there should be a more liberal approach to faith. The Ten Virgins is symbolic and represents the relationship between Christ and the church universal.
Fans have lauded the series for being inspirational and unlike what most of Nollywood is making today. Others praised the musical arrangements and the use of King James Bible English.
Many fans also commented that The Ten Virgins deserved an award for its sets and originality. They have also asked for the YouTube page to upload the remaining episodes at once; as the YouTube series will soon release its finale.
Watchers of The Ten Virgins have used it to critique the current Nollywood scene where movies with moral lessons are apparently becoming less and less popular and they blessed Blessing Egbe for being the exception.
