Nigerian social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse, aka Verydarkman, has expressed his disappointment and outrage towards Abike Dabiri Erewa, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, for her reaction to his video about human trafficking.
As reported by eelive, VDM in a video, had share his encounter with some underage children in Ivory Coast who were trafficked for exploitation. Dabiri responded to VDM’s video by retweeting messages sent to her, labeling it a “mischief” and stating that it was the responsibility of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

VDM in a fresh video in his Instagram page, took offense to Dabiri’s response, particularly her use of laughing emojis, which he felt showed a lack of empathy and concern for the victims of human trafficking. He accused Dabiri of trying to shame him and engaging in “damage control” to protect her own image.
VDM challenged Dabiri to show evidence of her efforts to combat human trafficking, including the number of people she has repatriated to Nigeria. He also questioned the effectiveness of Dabiri’s role as CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, suggesting that she was more focused on self-promotion than addressing the issue of human trafficking.
VDM then called on NAPTIP and the Nigeria Immigration Service to take action to address the issue of human trafficking, which he described as a major concern that requires urgent attention. He expressed his determination to find a solution to the problem and to hold those in positions of authority accountable for their actions.
