Canadian rapper, Daystar Peterson, better known as Tory Lanez has been charged with shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
He was charged on Thursday with two felony charges, one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
He also faces a gun allegation which states that he “inflicted great bodily injury” on Megan.
The 28-year-old rapper is to be arraigned on October 13 in Los Angeles. If convicted, Lanez faces a maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months.

Lanez shot Megan after the two were involved in an argument in his SUV. Megan had taken to her Instagram page after the incident to state that she was grateful to be alive.
“I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me,” she wrote.
“I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where l underwent surgery to remove the bullets.
“I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery; but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night.”
