Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji has been named ambassador for this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
The screen-diva preferably referred to by her first name, will join internationally-recognised filmmakers including –Priyanka Chopra, Tatiana Maslany, Shamier Anderson, amongst others for the festival which is scheduled to kick start virtually from Thursday, September, 10 to Saturday, September 19, 2020.
Having being appointed, the ambassadors will engage with audiences via an interactive digital experience.
Speaking about the forthcoming festival, Geoff Macnaughton, the Senior Director of Industry & Theatrical, TIFF, reveals that Genevieve and other appointed ambassadors will share innovative ideas, amongst other things, during the event.
His words; “In a time of disruption, professionals from around the world still look for occasions to come together, share innovative ideas, buy and sell content, and find creative ways to collectively forge ahead towards a safer, healthier, and inclusive future.”
“This year, delegates can expect to find community, connection, inspiration, and talent — the foundation that will serve as the way forward”, he added.
