Duker Twisted

Tope Duker‘s directorial debut Twisted has garnered over 100,00 views within the first week of its release. And the director has shared her experience shooting the film with us at eelive.ng.

Under the apprenticeship of her husband, Fidelis Duker, one of Nigeria’s foremost filmmakers, Duker has been co-producing films from as early as 1998. But this is her first time behind the camera as a director.

In a chat with Eelive.ng, Duker said, “Over the years I have produced many more films just to mention a few. Having done other independent productions and costume and make up for several films both English and Yoruba; I had a new craving for directing. And since no one gave me the chance, I had to use my own film as the launchpad.”

The Yoruba film, which is featured on LibraTV on YouTube, has received rave reviews in the comment section and on social media. The director says she is “overjoyed by the outcome of the production”. Despite the hitches Duker encountered on set, she says she is “overall pleased and it will only get better.”

Here’s the background of the film for you movie-lovers.

Twisted is set in modern-day Nigeria and follows an unfaithful couple who are planning to wed. The wedding is high priority to both their families. However, 48 hours to the big day, the couple and the groom’s father are entangled in a huge scandal that threatens to derail the wedding.

Tope Duker described Twisted as “a must-watch, full of passion, love, romance, deception and betrayal”. Watch Twisted here.
