Nigerian Media personality, Toke Makinwa has expressed her displeasure at the court for ordering Kelly Clarkson to pay her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, the whopping sum of $200k monthly for child and spousal support.
This is following the order by a Los Angeles County judge on Tuesday mandating American singer, Kelly Clarkson to pay her ex husband Blackstock $150,000 per month in spousal support, as well as $45,601 per month in child support.
According to Makinwa, she understands the need for spousal support. But is confused about paying child support. In her opinion, Clarkson and Blackstock both own the children. It is therefore unnecessary to pay for him to care for his own kids.
Further explaining her reason for displeasure, the on air personality stated that the life of a woman is hard enough. And they do not always win. She added that although she supports gender equality, she was sad about this situation.
Reacting to the statement made by Makinwa on the issue, fellow On air personality, N6 has stated that Makinwa does not have the intellectual range for this conversation. According to him, it is sad that Toke has a lot of followers who see her as their mentor. He also noted that she could be a positive influence on her female followers. However, she goes from making trashy comments to behaving in questionable ways.
In the past, Makinwa shared that the only thing that makes a successful union is luck. She explained, stating that a person who experiences true love and commitment from their partner is just lucky. The TV host also noted that there are no recipes for a successful marriage neither are there rules to what makes it work.
