Toke Makinwa, Nigerian media personality is self-isolating after potential exposure to coronavirus from the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Makinwa took to her Instagram page to make the announcement.
This is coming after the Lagos State Ministry of Health notified the attendees and participants of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) of their exposure to someone infected with the coronavirus.
Further, the Lagos state government urged everyone who attended the event to self-isolate.
Recall that Toke Makinwa alongside Ebuka Obi- Uchendu hosted the red carpet at the 7th edition of the AMVCA which took place on March 14. Makinwa says that she has been self-isolating with her team after the event.
She wrote:
”I hope you and yours are keeping safe, thank you l for your messages and prayers, I worked at the #AMVCA, I have been off air and self-isolating, making TikTok videos to entertain you, not sharing unverified information and just trying to keep my mind active.”
“My team members and I have been hydrating and staying healthy, exercising, washing our hands and monitoring ourselves. #Thistooshallpass #staysafeoutthere.”
Just recently, Makinwa said that the Chinese government should pay fines for the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Makinwa took to her Twitter page to express her anger with the Asian country. She said that other countries should hold China responsible for the job losses and layoffs that trailed the outbreak.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread; a growing number of notable public figures have begun testing positive for the virus.
This includes celebrities, politicians, and athletes. Many of whom have publicly disclosed their positive tests in an effort to raise awareness and promote healthy preventive practices.
