POPULAR singer and songwriter, Tiwa Savage has expressed her frustration over the incessant killing of innocent Nigerians.
Reacting to the death of a teenage girl, Tina Ezekwe, who was allegedly killed by a trigger-happy policeman in the Iyana Oworo area of Lagos; and the murder of a 22-year-old student, Uwavera Omozuwa, who was a victim of rape in a Benin church, after which she was gruesomely killed, Savage said “enough is enough.”
While seeking an end to the problems Nigerians have been struggling with for years; Savage lamented the Nigerian government’s inability to protect the lives of its citizens.
“WeAreTired of senseless killings, lorries falling on the road and killing passengers; ACs catching fire and burning houses, young girls getting raped; young boys killed by SARS no jobs for graduates,” Savage tweeted.
“Please add your own frustration because my list is long.
“We are tired of saying the same thing our parents, grand parents, great grand parents have been saying about Nigeria,” she wrote on Twitter.
It has become a norm for the rape and murders of women to go unaccounted for; with men diverting the topic when it is brought up. In view of the recent happenings in the country, what will you say is your frustration?
