Tiwa Savage, the queen of afrobeat, has released her much-anticipated new single titled “Pick Up.”
On Wednesday, the singer announced the new song via Instagram.
‘Pick Up’ demonstrates Savage’s storytelling prowess.
The lyrics depict the complexities of a strained relationship in vivid detail.
The singer also expresses her desire in the song to resolve emotional issues with her partner, who unfortunately does not reciprocate her efforts.
“Me I no dey understand anymore, everything no dey like e dey before, either you’re working from 9 to 4, I go dey till 10 and you never call. Somebody be trying to take olomi from me mehn i don’t know what to think,” the lyrics read.
“Ori mi ti fe blow but I no go let go, I dey on my ten toes, we go settle, no go let the devil kolombi my happiness but you no dey pick my call no more.”
Blaizebeatz produced the song.
Savage rose to prominence following the release of her breakthrough single ‘Kele Kele Love’ in 2010.
The songstress has worked with some of the world’s biggest names in music.
She has also received numerous awards and accolades for her work.
