Afropop star Tiwa Savage just dropped the music video for her latest single Dangerous Love. The video made its debut on YouTube on Wednesday, after the stunning songstress had dropped the song some days before.
The lyrics of Dangerous Love paints the picture of a new love which Tiwa is cautiously optimistic about; approaching slowly to avoid collecting heartbreak and Ls. Savage sings:
I fit to love you tire/ Are you really the one?/ No go come tire for me o/ Make e no go turn yawa for me ehh
But it also revels in the danger and excitement of the new entanglement.
Tiwa Savage directed the video for Dangerous Love in collaboration with Ibra. The video shows Tiwa on the phone with her (really hot) girlfriends, trying to pick out a sexy outfit for her hookup with ‘Seyi New’.
It makes use of a lot of filters and effects which are part of the lingua franca of modern online communication. The video is vibrant and fun and even makes use of the vertical video format to connote an actual video call.
Also, Tiwa Savage’s singing style seems to have developed a new pattern. The use of layered choral vocals in the song evokes a Fela-ish vibe. Maybe she’s going through her own Fela phase like Wizkid and Burna Boy skip in and out of.
