Adebayo Oke-Lawal’s Orange Culture took the runway at the New York Fashion Week to showcase its Spring/Summer 2020 collection and what a showstopping moment it was!
A perfect description of the collection is no farther from what founder and fashion sensei, Oke-Lawal had to say when he stated: “I just dream and feel; in those dreams I explore alternate spaces and ideologies for and of my community. It’s an emotional conversation for me and about dealing with issues, rather than sweeping them under the carpet.”
From the hand detailed armored vests made in Rwanda; the balance and use of colour in the matching co-ords, the chandelier hats and popping wigs, one cannot doubt the evident emotional quotient.
