No one’s surprised about Olivia Rodrigo, Silk Sonic and Doja Cat’s Grammy nominations for the 2022 Grammy’s. However, there were a couple surprises and a couple snubs which fans were quick to call out online.
It’s no secret that the Recording Academy might be a little biased as multiple industry people have “exposed” them. From Jay Z to Zayn Malik, many artists in the industry have complained about the Recording Academy’s behavior towards certain artists.
This year’s list came with multiple surprise nominations and snubs:
Snub: BTS
After dropping record-smashing hits like “Dynamite” and “Butter”, BTS got one nomination for the 2022 Grammy’s. Army’s were not happy about this news. The korean boy band were nominated for best pop duo/group performance, which was the same category they were nominated for last year.
Snub: Polo G
Polo G received zero nominations for this year’s Grammys. Despite dropping internet smashing hits, we expected a best new artist nom for the rapper.
Surprise: ABBA
ABBA has never been nominated before. Surprise!
Snub: CLB
Drake clearly isn’t sexy enough for the Grammy’s. CLB got snubbed as well.
Surprise: Finneas
Billie Eilish’s Big brother finally got a Grammy nom.
