In 2009, a script written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick got made into the comedy, Zombieland. The duo will later go on to write the script for Deadpool. This movie directed by Ruben Fleischer follows four strangers who meet in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, trying to find a sanctuary free of zombies. We’re served a dose of romance, laughs, and a lot of zombie killing. The movie stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Emma Stone.

Always Be My Maybe
Netflix

Netflix released the charming and delightful Always Be My Maybe back in 2009. The romantic comedy stars Randall Park and Ali Wong, who also co-wrote the film. Park and Wong are childhood friends Marcus and Sasha, who had a teenage fling but haven’t been in touch for a while. The chemistry between the duo is impressive and if you are a fan of romcoms, this is right up your alley.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

There have been so many different iterations of the King Arthur story but none have been like 1975’s Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The movie written and performed by the Monty Python comedy group was a hilarious parody of King Arthur’s quest for the holy grail.

A Futile and Stupid Gesture

This Netflix original chronicles the rise and fall of National Lampoon magazine through the eyes of co-founder Doug Kenney played by Will Forte. The movie premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and then dropped on the streaming platform on January 26, 2018.

Whenever a bunch of Saturday Night Lights alums get together, you’re always sure of a good time. That’s what we get with Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Paula Pell, Emily Spivey, Jason Schwartzman, and Tina Fey in Wine Country.

The movie is inspired by a real-life trip the SNL cast members and real-life friends took to celebrate Dratch’s 50th birthday.
