Three years after waiting, the second season of the voraciously awaited South Korean television series, Squid Game will debut on the movie streaming platform, Netflix.
In September 2021, upon its release, Squid Game became the most-watched series on the movie streaming platform. It has been referred to as one of the most influential movie series, instigating cultural change across various nations and helping onlookers understand that despite the language barrier, the storyline is still relatable.
At the time of the release of the debut season, Squid Game quickly gained international prominence. The series won numerous accolades and it has been dubbed one of the most popular releases in the post-covid era.

On Thursday, December 26, the second season of the South Korean series will be coming once again. It would continue the narrative of human’s insatiable desire to rule and conquer their fellow men and perceive them as pawns in a game.
The season stars Lee Jung-jae, Wi Ha-joon, Lee Byung-hun, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Lee Jin-wook, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-shim and Lee Seo-hwan. It is set three years after Seong Gi-hun won Squid Game, giving up on going to the United States and returning with a new resolution in mind. He once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of ₩45.6 billion.
A third and final season has been confirmed to premiere in 2025.
