Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer hits record breaking viewership numbers

Spider-Man: No Way Home is still four months away, however it has already begun breaking records.

The teaser trailer has now set a new all-time record for the most global views in the first 24 hours. Across YouTube and Twitter, the trailer hit 355.5 million views. That number far surpasses the previous record holder, the trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame. The Endgame trailer picked up 289 million views when it debuted in December 2018. Before that, the record was held by the Avengers: Infinity War trailer, which obtained 230 million views in November 2017.

The Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer also more than doubled that of the second trailer for its predecessor, Spider-Man: Far From Home. Far From Home boasted 135 million worldwide views in its first 24 hours.

Furthermore, the teaser trailer also generated the largest 24-hour social media conversation volume of all-time with 4.5 million mentions.

No Way Home is the third Spider-Man movie and the 27th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Here’s the movie’s synopsis

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighbourhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of the most anticipated films of the year and is expected to introduce the MCU multiverse. Previous Spider-Man actors, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are also expected to appear in the movie.

Spider-Man: No Way Home makes its debut in theaters on December 17, 2021.
