Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has charged President Muhammadu Buhari to not address Nigerians from a prepared speech tonight (Monday, April 27, 2020).

As Buhari is scheduled to address the nation in a live broadcast by 8:00 pm, the actor doesn’t want the president to read from any paper, saying he should talk to Nigerians from his heart.

“Dear President Buhari, drop paper, don’t read speech today,” Edochie tweeted. Speak to Nigerians from your heart”.

Retrospectively, in the few times the president has addressed Nigerians in live broadcasts; he adopts his usual style of reading from papers. He doesn’t address Nigerians off-hand, an approach that has attracted criticism to the presidency.

Do you think it is better for the president to address Nigerians from his heart? Or is the presidency to stick to the formally written speeches?
