Sony Pictures Television Signs New Deal with EbonyLife Films

EbonyLife Films has signed a two-year first-look deal with Sony Television Pictures’ international production division. The two-year deal will see EbonyLife films produce scripted TV series.

Nina Lederman, EVP Global Scripted Development for Sony Pictures Television in a statement said; “We are glad to be broadening our relationship with Mo and the team at EbonyLife, who have created some of the most compelling and successful content in all of Africa. We’re excited to have the opportunity to help bring their soulful African storytelling to platforms serving a global audience.”

Mo Abudu, EbonyLife Media’s Chief Executive Officer while reacting to the latest deal; expressed her excitement to a broadening relationship between EbonyLife films and Sony Pictures Television.

She further stated that this new deal will give EbonyLife films the chance to reach massive audience worldwide with their scripted TV series.

This new deal follows an initial three-year partnership. It will allow Sony Television Pictures get an exclusive first look on all EbonyLife’s scripted television projects; whatever they developed within the two-year span.

EbonyLife films and Sony Pictures television’s first three-year deal saw the creation of the much anticipated Dahomey Warriors inspired film.
