Grammy award-winning American singer, Solange Knowles and her husband, Alan Ferguson, are getting a divorce after five years of marriage.
The 33-year-old neo-soul artiste announced the split on her Instagram page on Friday, November 1, 2019.
Solange revealed, via the Instagram post, that she and Ferguson separated early this year. Apparently, the divorce was a long time coming.
While the cause of the split remains secret, Solange wrote extensively on her “physical and spiritual” transition so far.
In addition to that, Solange Knowles expressed her commitment to embarking on an entirely new journey after the divorce.

Solange and Alan Ferguson started dating in 2008. The couple tied the knot six years later in a beautiful all-white ceremony in New Orleans, Louisiana.
This was her second marriage. Before Ferguson, Solange married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Smith, when she was 17. She and Smith share a 15-year-old son.
