Simi Ogunleye, a Nigerian Afropop vocalist and Adekunle Gold, her husband and fellow musician have welcomed their first child, a baby girl.
The excited new mum took to her social media page to announce the good news to her fans and followers, while revealing the name of their baby girl.
The Duduke crooner shared a picture where Adekunle Gold can be seen carrying the newborn on her official Instagram page, while noting that she had her baby on Saturday, May 30, 2020.
In a caption that accompanied the post, the singer revealed her baby’s name as Adejare.
Describing how she feels about the birth of her own Duduke, Simi said:
“it’s like free-falling – this unending, soul snatching, infinite, mind-boggling love.” The new mother further made a vow to her daughter that she will always have her back. “Deja, my baby girl, I got you. I promise. Now and forever. So help me God.”
This comes weeks after Simi released visuals for her hit single Duduke.
Prior to this development, the alternative singer had been rumoured to be pregnant. Simi who never spoke on her rumoured pregnancy also fueled the controversy when she stopped sharing full pictures of herself on social media, which got her fans more curious.
The songstress confirmed her pregnancy in Duduke video flaunting her protruding belly, in three scenes of the 2:57 clip.
Simi and Adekunle Gold tied the know in a low-key wedding in January, 2019. The lovebirds celebrated their first year anniversary earlier this year.
