In the wake of the sexual misconduct allegation aimed at Nigerian music star, D’banj, Nigerian singer, Mo’Cheddah has come to the defense of Seyitan Babatayo.

Babatayo had released a press statement on Wednesday, claiming that the Fall In Love crooner had been “intimidating” her since she took to her Twitter page to break silence on the alleged rape.

D'banj rape allegation

Reacting to the development on Wednesday, Mo’Cheddah slammed D’banj for bullying and allegedly trying to “silence” Babatayo from speaking the truth. Further she accused him of trying to influence the Nigerian Police as well as the judicial system.

Mo’Cheddah addresses D’banj

“Shame on you, D’banj, Shame on you for being the bully you have shown us you are,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Shame on you for silencing a young woman from speaking her truth,”

She continued: “Shame on you for being an instrument to unlawful imprisonment. Shame on you for influencing the order to arrest a woman that has accused you of rape.

“Shame on you for making her sign under duress. You have shown the world who you are, and that you truly stand for nothing.”

The 29-year-old singer said D’banj should be stripped of his endorsements while also calling for retraction of awards won by him to serve as a deterrent to others.

“This story has gone beyond rape. You have manipulated the justice system to fit your selfish interest. You have broken the law on multiple counts, and you deserve to be cancelled,” she added.

“D’banj should be stripped of his endorsements, and his awards should be retracted to send a message to all bullies that believe they are above the law.”

Mo’Cheddah calls for law enforcement officer’s arrest

In addition, Mo’Cheddah went on to demand the arrest and prosecution of police officers who had apprehended Babatayo.

“The policemen that arrested Seyitan unlawfully should all be exposed and relieved of their duty. The power of your influence puts the onus on you to act right, but regardless of your status, you are a man first.

“Many might say this case is about cloth chasing, but takeout your bias towards your favorite and replace him with regular joe; wouldn’t you want the same Justice? Do the right thing.”

Her comment comes about the same time when the Coalition of Public Interests Lawyers and Advocates (COPA); had also called for immediate arrest of D’banj for interrogation.

The singer had insisted that he’s innocent of the allegation until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.
