Shallipopi, the rising star in Nigerian music, has made a significant announcement regarding his career.
In 2023, Shallipopi gained prominence for his unique blend of street music.
He incorporates his Bini cultural roots with elements of hip-hop and party centric Afrobeats. Which resulted in hit records that propelled him into the mainstream.
Shallipopi surprised the Nigerian music scene by revealing the launch of his self-owned record label, Plutomania Records on Tuesday.
This move came while he’s already signed under Dapper Music, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit in the music industry.
In addition to introducing Plutomania Records, he introduced two new artists, Zerryl and Tega Boi, who have joined his label.
Shallipopi’s music enjoyed tremendous success in 2023, thanks to his EP ‘Planet Pluto,’ which featured hit singles like ‘Elon Musk,’ ‘Obapluto,’ and ‘Ex-Convict.’
Acknowledging his achievements, Apple Music recognized Shallipopi as one of the top five fast-rising artists.
This honor was part of the celebration of Nigeria’s 63rd independence.
Other artists who shared this recognition include ODUMODUBLVCK, who won the Rookie of the Year award at the 2023 Headies, Seyi Vibez, Mavin’s rising star Bayyani, and gospel sensation Victor Thompson.
Recently, Shallipopi released two new singles, ‘Things on Things’ and ‘Oscroh’. Oscroh is topping the charts on Apple Music Nigeria Top 100 and Spotify Nigeria Top 50.
With the launch of his record label and the introduction of his new talents, Shallipopi appears poised to expand his presence and dominance in the music mainstream.
