Nigerian actress, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha has revealed how she prepared for her role in the recently released Netflix series, Seven Doors.
In Seven Doors, Akpotha portrays the role of an Igbo queen married to a Yoruba king (played by Femi Adebayo), bringing to life a tale of kingship, kinship, family, love, betrayal, and restitution. The role required her to speak fluent Yoruba.

Appearing in a TVC interview alongside her co-star, Femi Adebayo, the actress disclosed that she learned Yoruba specifically for her role in the series.
She said, “I had to learn Yoruba for my role in Seven Doors. The Yoruba in the movie was not the regular one spoken in Lagos State, so I had to be very particular about the tone.”
Chioma Chukwuka is a Nigerian actress, director and movie producer. In 2007, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for “Best Actress in a leading role” for her performance in the movie “Sins of the flesh”, and the Afro Hollywood award for best actress in a lead role in 2010.
