Sam Lloyd, an American actor has passed away after a battle with brain tumour. He was 56 years old.
The actor was diagnosed with an inoperable tumor and cancer, in January 2019 which eventually spread to his lungs, jaw, liver, and spine.
Lloyd, who is renowned for his role as Ted Buckland in Scrubs, a comedy-drama TV series breathed his last on Thursday, a year after Vanessa Lloyd, his wife, had given birth to their first child together.
“Thinking a lot about Sam Lloyd today. (Ted). Truly such a kind, sweet guy. He will be missed by so many,” Bill Lawrence, the creator of Scrubs, said while confirming his death on Friday.
“Rest In Peace to one of the funniest actors I’ve ever had the joy of working with,” Zach Braff, another US actor, who also played a role in Scrubs, wrote while paying tributes to the late actor.”Sam Lloyd made me crack up and break character every single time we did a scene together. He could not have been a kinder man. I will forever cherish the time I had with you, Sammy.”
Aside from Scrubs, the father of one had also taken up roles in other renowned TV shows including Desperate Housewives, Happy Together, Shameless, The West Wing, and Modern Family.
He also had guest spots on Spin City and Seinfeld and notable credits in films like Galaxy Quest and Flubber. The late actor is survived by his wife and a child.
