Rotimi, Nigerian-American actor, singer, model and sometimes IG comedian, popular for his role as Andre Coleman on “Power”, dropped an R&B EP recently titled “Walk With Me”. He sat with Charlamagne and Angela on “The Breakfast Club” to talk about the emotions behind the EP and what most of the songs on it meant to him.
On his intention behind putting out the body of work and picking its name, he said: “I wanted people to hear it before they see me. I wanted the music to speak for itself. Forget “Power”, forget movies and just focus on this and walk with me through this journey and that’s its like let this music speak for itself.”

Before the official release of the EP, Rotimi had gone deeper into the meaning of the EP to him and even pointed out some of more preferred track on it.
He wrote: “I took a few months to really reflect on who I was…as an actor, a singer, a son, a friend but most importantly who I was a man. It took time for me to really discover who I was and be comfortable with myself while allowing myself to become vulnerable and uncomfortable at the same time. I believe in the number 7 as the number of completion and these 7 songs are the first phase of my self discover. I really wanted to take my time with this to be as authentic as I could, to embrace my Nigerian American heritage along with my love or love….Forget who you think I am…Forget who I think I am…Lets all embrace this journey of self discovery…#Walk With Me.”
