Rihanna‘s Fenty fashion line with LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, is closing down less than two years after its launch.
The Barbadian singer and the French multinational luxury conglomerate announced this in a joint statement to WWD.
The duo explained that they will be focusing on growing Rihanna‘s lingerie line, Savage X Fenty and her cosmetic line, Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin.
“Rihanna and LVMH have jointly made the decision to put on hold the RTW activity, based in Europe, pending better conditions,” the statement reads.
“Following the completion of a fundraising round where L Catterton has taken a stake into Savage X Fenty, LVMH and Rihanna reaffirm their ambition to concentrate on the growth and the long-term development of Fenty ecosystem focusing on cosmetics, skincare and lingerie.”
According to WWD, “a skeleton staff will remain at the Paris headquarters of Fenty fashions to wind down remaining operations” before the site goes dark.
