In total variance to the belief that Nigeria is the cistern for sexual virtues and decency, investigations by eelive.ng has shown a significant growth in the production and consumption of pornography!
Traditionally, Nigeria is not a country synonymous with open acts of immorality or public display of nudity. Especially because we are religious, adept in culture and with a strong hold on to the belief that ‘bedroom business should be left for the bedroom’.
However, eelive.ng has observed a growing affinity for pornographic content in the country. The manner in which all forms of sexual intimacy is depicted vividly in videos and curiously, the fact that Nigeria does not only now harbour an incredible number of indigenous producers and porn stars but is home to one of the highest number of consumers of pornography in the world with up to about 135,000 searches per month and more than 80 of them, rape related videos!
Perhaps in the spirit of nationalism however, Nigerians are gradually taking to homemade porn which shows their own realities – skin colour, bad lighting and plenty sweat (imposed by the epileptic power supply).
A proud patron, Chigozie Nwadibia told eelive.ng: “I don’t enjoy watching foreign porn. It does not arouse me. I love to watch Nigeria pornography more. There is a satisfaction that comes from watching people with your skin colour having sex…”
Eelive.ng investigations revealed that this industry operates like a conventional film industry with various layers of roles including producers, directors and actors!
One of such producers is Tobiloba Isaac Jolaoso or KingTblak (@Kingtblak_Africa) who prefers to use his social media for publicity. His pages are littered with videos and pictures of him offloading wads of cash on almost naked ladies. His business however happens on the ‘pornstar’ channels section of ‘xvideos’ and other sites where he gets up to over 1million views per video; an average of 10million views in total.
Producers like KingTblak also make use of websites like the top three thriving Nigerian porn sites – ‘nollyporn’, ‘mojonaija’ and ‘bangnolly’ to push their content. Viewers are charged between N3000 to N5000 to satisfy their lust.
On the acting wing of the business are young men and women who no longer care about what family or society feels about them because of the money.
One of such actors, Nkiruka Nwosu, told our reporters:
“Why should I be ashamed of a job that feeds me? The job pays my bills, I can never be ashamed of it. If I’m broke who will take care of me? Nobody…After all, I am not scamming anybody, and I don’t steal. See, there is no big deal about this thing now. It is just acting. We usually exaggerate the reactions. We scream and moan loudly, and we look straight into the camera to connect with the viewers at home. A lot of my videos can be found on Nigerian websites. Some, I don’t know where the producers take them to.They just pay us after work we go.”
