‘Ratnik’ Cinema Release Date Postponed Over Coronavirus

Nollywood’s science-fiction movie, Ratnik has been postponed due to the coronavirus crisis in Nigeria and around the globe.

Although, Blue Picture – West Africa’s leading film distribution company had earlier planned its release for April 10. The company however announced the postponement of the movie in a message delivered via its social media page.

“Due to the recent outbreak of Covid-19, we have decided to put a halt to the release of Ratnik, until there is a positive turn-around…  In the meantime, ensure you observe all preventive measures and stay safe,” it wrote on Instagram.

Ratnik won the Best Art Director, and also Best Costume Design at the recently held Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) in Lagos.

Dimeji Ajibola, a Nigerian filmmaker, wrote and directed the movie. And it features several movie stars including Adunni Ade, Osa Ighodaro, Bolanle Ninalowo and a host of others.

The movie tells the story of Sarah Bello, a World War II soldier, who returns home from the war-front to meet an unpleasant scenario.
