Texas rapper Lil Loaded, whose real name was Dashawn Robertson, has died at age 20.
The Dallas County medical examiner’s office confined the rapper’s death on Monday. In a statement from Robertson’s attorney, Ashkan Mehryari, said the cause of death was suicide.
Robertson was awaiting trial for manslaughter after his friend, 18-year-old Khalil Walker; who died from a gunshot wound in October 2020. He was initially arrested by the Dallas Police Department on a murder charge and he faced a lesser charge in February of this year.

The young rapper, who was free on bond, was due in court for an admonishment hearing in Dallas on Tuesday. According to a widely circulated screenshot, Robertson asked God for forgiveness in his final Instagram story before his suicide.
Lil Loaded became a surprise breakout star two years ago when his single 6locc 6a6y went viral. Robertson released a homemade music video for the song in July 2019. Shortly after, the popular Polish YouTuber known as Tommy Craze praised the clip in a reaction video, which has nearly 4 million views. The original music video has since racked up nearly 30 million views.
Lil Loaded is just one in a growing list of young rappers that have died between the ages of 18 and 25.
