Rape Allegation: Seyitan was paid $100, says D’banj’s Ex-manager

Franklin Amudo, a former manager to D’banj, has broken his silence on the rape allegation leveled against the singer by Seyitan Babatayo.

Amudo who was D’banj’s manager from July 2016 to January 11, 2019 gave an account of the event that occurred two years ago in an interview with GoldMynetv.

According to him, he was the one who invited Seyitan to an event in Lagos where D’Banj attended and performed on December 30, 2018. He said he gave Seyitan the keys to his room to pass the night at Glee hotel when she told him she couldn’t return home that night as it was too late. He did not sleep in the room as he had to go home to prepare for an early morning flight to Accra, Ghana.

“Upon getting to Ghana, I just saw that my phone kept on ringing because we were on the bus, and it was Seyitan. We were in the car to the apartment so I didn’t pick. When we got to the apartment, I put on the wifi then I saw her message and I called her back and asked why she was calling me,” he said.

“The first question she asked was that ‘were you aware that D’banj was coming to my room?’ I said No because first of all D’banj doesn’t even know my room, and he didn’t even lodge at Glee hotel. That was when she made the allegation that D’banj came into her room and had forceful carnal knowledge of her.”

 gives his own account of what transpired at the hotel Franklin Amudo, a former manager to singer, Dapo Oyebanjo aka DBanj, has released an official statement regarding the rape allegation leveled against DBanj by a lady, Seyitan Babatayo. According to Franklin he was the one who invited Seyitan to an event in Lagos where DBanj attended and performed on December 30, 2018. He said he gave Seyitan the keys to his room to pass the night at Glee hotel when she told him she couldn't return home that night as it was too late. Franklin said Seyitan called him later that night to allege that DBanj found his way into her room and raped her. He said he immediately called one Ajia Mohammed and informed him of the allegation #Seyitan made. Franklin said Ajia told him not to worry about it and that he had given Seyitan $100, though the purpose for the money wasn't stated. Franklin said he was unable to ask #DBanj at the time because it was the same period the singer lost his son and he felt it would be insensitive for him to discuss such a thing with him.

Amudo’s official statement

Amudo who also released an official statement said he immediately called one Ajia Mohammed and informed him of the allegation Seyitan made. Amudo said Ajia told him not to worry about it and that he had given Seyitan $100.

He added that he was unable to ask the singer at the time because it was the same period he lost his son and he felt it would be insensitive for him to discuss such a thing with him.
