Actor, Rami Malek Makes Oscar History
Rami Malek has made history as the first actor of Egyptian descent to win an Oscar for the Best Actor. He won this award for his portrayal of Queen’s Freddie Mercury in the movie “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
If you have seen that movie then this might not come as a surprise as to you because Rami delivered solid gold! And ended up taking home the gold.
In his emotional acceptance speech, Malek praised his mother and acknowledged especially, his late father; saying that he would be proud of him and the achievement he had attained.
He said: “I am the son of immigrants from Egypt—I’m a first-generation American, part of my story is being written right now and I could not be more grateful to each and every one of you and everyone who believed in me…this is something I will treasure for the rest of my life.”
