Rachel Bakam laid to rest amidst tears

Nigerian television presenter and actress, Rachel Bakam, has been laid to rest.

The Kaduna-born actress was buried amidst tears on Friday at Gudu Cemetery in Wuse, Abuja.

Eelive.ng had earlier reported  that Rachel died from anaemia on Tuesday at the age of 38.

Rose Bakam, the late actress’s mother, who spoke during at the burial, shared the last moments she shared with her daughter before her death.

She said, “I just want to share the last moments I had in the hospital with my daughter. On four different occasions, she mentioned that she felt her spirit was leaving her and I told her, ‘No, your spirit will not leave you because you are not going anywhere’.

“Three times, she wept and when I ask why she was weeping, she said she was worried about her son and those who looked up to her. Also, three different times, she laughed out loud and when I asked why she was laughing, she said she knew she was going to rest very soon.

“Two times, she told me that she saw herself dressed in white robes with a crown.

“To my daughter at the right hand of God, resting with the Creator, we will meet one day, never to part again.”

Rachel Bakam was born and brought up in Kaduna State where she had her primary, secondary, and tertiary education.

She studied English and Theatre Arts at Ahmadu Bello University and Digital Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy.

She was the CEO and managing director of Rayzeds Media Ltd, founder and president of the Nigerian Water Ski And Wakeboard Federation (NWWF)
