R.Kelly’s Ex Wife Andrea Lee to Sue LifeTime TV

R.Kelly‘s ex-wife, Andrea Lee Kelly is suing LifeTime TV for including her in the “Surviving R.Kelly Part II : The Reckoning‘. Following the release of the new documentary on Wednesday, Lee says LifeTime included her without her permission.

The trailer shows clips of Drea from the original ‘Surviving‘ documentary that aired in early 2019 after Kelly had vehemently said NO to them.

Drea Kelly as she’s popularly known says the new official trailer for “Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning” is misleading to audiences because it makes it looks like she was involved.

Drea wants to make it known she has nothing to do with the second installment of the ‘Surviving’ documentary. She is angry with LifeTime because they failed to give support to the women after the first documentary was released.

She says she got a lot of negative backlash and threats from the public after the series aired. But on top of that, she is not happy with LifeTime because she told the company to not contact her kids and family members about ‘Part II’ but she was ignored.

Furthermore, she stressed that there has been a general lack of support, security and aftercare for survivors who participated.

Drea says she wants to reiterate:

“she has no involvement, did not approve any footage or stills of her likeness and is not actively promoting, nor consulting the follow-up series.”

The past few years have been challenging for singer R.Kelly who has been facing allegations of sexual and physical abuse. The singer is currently in jail in Chicago, facing sex crime charges in two states after he was denied bail. His trial date has been set for May 2020.
